About Us

jewishnewyearartTemple Beth El, founded in 1943 and affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, is a dynamic center for Jewish religious, cultural and educational development in Charlotte, North Carolina. Through a wide variety of engagement opportunities, congregants and guests enjoy worship services, intellectual enrichment and cultural events. We reach out to each of our members because everyone is important to us. We welcome unaffiliated Jews who seek to return to the Jewish faith and make the religious journey available to all who desire to live a Jewish life. We are a:

  • Beit Knesset, a house of gathering, connecting you with Jews of every age and background.
  • Beit Midrash, a house of study, learning from sacred texts, adding meaning to your life.
  • Beit Tefillah, a house of prayer, providing a place for meditation, singing, praying and reflecting.

Temple Beth El’s clergy want to lead you on your own spiritual and intellectual journey and are here to guide each family member through lifecycle milestones and daily Jewish life.  Just as you have walked through the windows of this website, may you soon walk through Temple Beth El’s doors so we can warmly welcome you to our community.
