L’Chaim is Temple Beth El’s premier biennial fundraiser—an evening that brings our community together in support of something greater than ourselves.
This year, we gather in the beautifully restored Carolina Theatre to honor Marcy and Fred Dumas, two extraordinary leaders whose decades of dedication have strengthened Temple Beth El and the greater Charlotte Jewish community.
For more than 35 years, Marcy and Fred Dumas have embodied the values of Temple Beth El—compassion, leadership, and service. From spearheading the congregation’s first Habitat for Humanity build, to leading major campaigns, endowments, and volunteer efforts across the city, the Dumas family has inspired generations through action.
Their commitment to tikkun olam is felt not only within our walls, but across Charlotte. From reading to students to co-chairing philanthropic foundations, Marcy and Fred’s lives have been dedicated to building a more just, vibrant, and compassionate community.
We are thrilled to welcome Morgan James, a Juilliard-trained singer, songwriter, and actress, for a live performance at L’Chaim 2025. Known for her powerhouse vocals and genre-crossing artistry, Morgan has performed in five original Broadway casts—including Motown: The Musical and Godspell—and has released a wide range of studio albums blending soul, pop, and original work.
Her performance at L’Chaim promises to bring soul and sparkle to an already unforgettable evening.
By sponsoring L’Chaim 2025, you’ll be part of a meaningful legacy, ensuring our congregation continues to thrive. Choose from seven sponsorship levels with exclusive benefits.
