Upcoming Events
Tuesday, December 16 at 6:30pm
Chanukah feels brighter when we celebrate together. Join Miriam’s Well and Brotherhood for an evening that begins with candle lighting and song, led by TBE clergy, and continues with food and fun. Dinner will feature all your favorites, including latkes and sufganiyot. We also encourage you to bring your own chanukiyah for a beautiful, shared candle lighting.
In the spirit of the season, we’re collecting both new and gently-used winter essentials for Crisis Assistance Ministry. Coats, hats, gloves, and mittens for adults and children are all welcome.
Dinner is free for Brotherhood and Miriam’s Well members who bring winter items to donate. Your gift helps us share the light with our Charlotte neighbors.
This gathering is for adults, and babysitting will be available at TBE for $18 per child with advance registration.
Register by Thursday, December 11.
Our Initiatives
Miriam’s Wellness
When a congregant is feeling under the weather, Miriam’s Wellness provides homemade soup—prepared by volunteers and delivered with care.
How It Works:
- Homemade & Heartfelt: Volunteers cook fresh soup in the Temple kitchen.
- Delivered with Love: If you live within 10 miles, a volunteer will deliver soup to you. Otherwise, you can pick it up at Temple.
- Need Soup?: Simply request it, and we’ll get it to you.
Miriam’s Wellcome
At Temple Beth El, Shabbat is a time for connection. Miriam’s Wellcome ensures that every person who walks through our doors feels truly welcomed.
What It Looks Like:
- Warm Greetings: Volunteers offer a heartfelt “Shabbat Shalom” at the entrance.
- Community Connection: At the Oneg, greeters introduce new faces, answer questions, and help everyone feel like they belong.
- Creating a Welcoming Space: Whether it’s someone’s first time or their 100th, we help them feel at home.
