I am having a Bar Mitzvah ceremony because it’s a family tradition. My brothers, my father and his father all became B’nei Mitzvah. My parents expected I would become a Bar Mitzvah too. I am happy I did this because I feel more connected because I know the prayers and I will have led a service. I am proud of being Jewish because I can now pass down some of my family’s heritage. After my Bar Mitzvah, I plan to celebrate the Jewish holidays at home with the traditions and at Temple. I hope to one day raise my children as Jews who will also become B’nei Mitzvah.

For my Mitzvah Project I volunteered at the Morrison Y. I assisted the Pre-K teachers and worked with 3 & 4 year olds, I really enjoyed it. It was fun and funny to be around them. I felt good about doing something to help other people. I fulfilled the mitzvah of teaching kids.
