I am having a Bat Mitzvah to symbolize becoming an adult in the Jewish community. Becoming Jewish was something I really wanted to do. My parents supported me in pursuing my Jewish education because they wanted to help me develop and strengthen my relationship with God.  They gave me the gift of Judaism to help guide me through my life.  I learned Hebrew throughout the past 5 years and I also learned about the history of Judaism. I am really proud of what I have achieved. To continue to be Jewish, I will continue going to services and support my sister when she has her Bat Mitzvah. I am very proud to be Jewish. I enjoyed learning a different language that a lot of people I know don’t speak. I feel special when people of other beliefs become interested in what I believe as a Jew.

For my mitzvah project I volunteered at the YMCA.  I worked with the preschoolers and watched over them while they were playing so that their parents could exercise.  I enjoyed it. It was challenging. I felt good that I was helping the people that worked there to settle the kids down. I fulfilled the mitzvah of teaching children.
