I am having a Bar Mitzvah because I want to follow the traditions of my family.  It is something I always knew I would do.  Though it was a lot of work, it was worth it.  Having family and friends coming to support me makes me feel good.  To me, being Jewish means being unique and being part of a community.  I feel a lot more connected to the community because I have been here so often.  I am proud of being Jewish.  I will pass Judaism on to others by celebrating Shabbat and Jewish holidays with family and friends.

For my mitzvah project I helped our homeless neighbors through Room In the Inn. At Room in the Inn, I prepped for them by making their beds and then made and served them dinner. Lastly, I hung out with the guys watching football. I found that even though they are homeless, they still have lots of personality. Some were funny.  It was nice to spend time with them.  I felt good because I felt like I helped those who were less fortunate.  I fulfilled the mitzvah of helping the needy.
