Help Our Neighbors Affected by Hurricane Helene

Your donation or offer to host can provide comfort and support to families in need.

Hurricane Helene has caused significant devastation across the Southeast, with many of our neighbors in North Carolina, including Asheville and Boone, heavily impacted.

Our team is in contact with congregations in the affected areas, working to assess how we can provide meaningful support during this challenging time.

Temple Beth El has a disaster relief fund to assist the affected communities. If you are in a position to contribute, your donation will directly help those who have been hardest hit.

If you are able to open your home to those displaced by the hurricane—whether they are from Florida, Georgia, or right here in North Carolina—we invite you to complete the brief survey below. Your hospitality, whether for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, or even for a short stay, can provide much-needed comfort and safety for those in need during this difficult time.

Additionally, for those in Charlotte currently without power, Temple Beth El is opening its doors until 6:00pm today to offer a space to recharge devices, access the internet, and have a place to relax. We want to ensure everyone has a safe place.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are reminded of the importance of community, compassion, and our commitment to one another. Together, we can bring comfort and hope during this difficult time.

Thank you for embodying the values of kindness and generosity that make Temple Beth El a true community of care.

L’shalom,

Rabbi Asher Knight
