Adult Beginning Hebrew: Aleph Bet and Reading
Wednesdays at 7:00pm (October 11-May 1) in the Bernstein Education Building

This class will focus on the skills needed to accurately sound out Hebrew texts, while also providing students with a basic vocabulary of frequently used words in the siddur (prayer book). The primary purpose of the class is to help adults acquire or reclaim the fundamental building blocks of the Hebrew language. We hope this class will increase your comfort level participating in worship services. For those who are interested, this class is the first component of becoming Anshei Mitzvah (Adult B’nei Mitzvah) at Temple Beth El.  

Tuition is $136/student for TBE members and $160/student for non-members – tuition includes materials.

Adult Intermediate Hebrew: Prayer
Sundays at 9:00am (October 15-May 1) at Temple Beth El

Did you learn the aleph-bet but still feel like the prayers move too fast for you? This class will focus on the prayers most frequently recited at Temple Beth El in order to help participants connect more deeply with their prayer experience. Participants should have completed a beginner Hebrew reading class or have a rudimentary knowledge of the Hebrew aleph-bet.

Adult Intermediate Hebrew: Modern Conversational Hebrew
Sundays at 10:00am (October 15-May 5) at Temple Beth El

Are you able to read Hebrew, but do not know what you are saying? This class will introduce participants to basic Modern Hebrew vocabulary and grammar through simple conversations led by an experienced Israeli Hebrew teacher. Participants should have completed a beginner Hebrew reading class or have a rudimentary knowledge of the Hebrew aleph-bet.
