Charlotte Prays for Peace

Dear Temple Beth El family,

Yesterday, our city was struck by tragedy that has left us reeling with shock and sorrow. Four law enforcement officers were fatally shot, while four others were wounded while carrying out their duties. These officers are heroes who bravely served our community. This devastating shooting stands as one of the deadliest assaults on US law enforcement in recent history.

In this moment of deep sadness, our hearts are heavy with sympathy for the families, friends, and colleagues of the officers who lost their lives. Our prayers are with the injured, their families, and everyone affected by this horrific attack.

Tonight at 6:00pm, Rabbi Knight will stand in support and solidarity during “Pray for Peace,” an interfaith prayer vigil at Little Rock AME Zion (401 N McDowell St, Charlotte, NC 28204). We invite you to join us as we come together to pray for healing, comfort, and strength for the community.

Please know that our clergy are here to talk with you, process with you, and support you at any time. You can reach us by calling 704-366-1948.

With heartfelt condolences and prayers for peace,

Rabbi Asher Knight
Rabbi Beth Nichols
Rabbi Lexi Erdheim
Cantor Jessica Roskin
Jonathan Friedman, Chief Operating Officer
