Lead with Your Heart by Candace Naliboff, Director of Member Services

I am a people person – if you have met me then you know this already. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and sharing their life with them. Maybe it is because I am a counselor by trade, or maybe it is because when I was a little girl, my daddy used to call me Chatty Cathy…like the doll. Whatever it is, meeting new people and having new conversations is easy for me and something I really enjoy.

In my job at Temple, Director of Member Services, I am lucky. I meet you when you first come in, looking to make this your spiritual home. I love that part of my job. I get a head start on everyone else knowing who is who and being able to facilitate introductions. It is fun for me!

To all of you who I have had the pleasure of helping become a part of our wonderful community, I say thank you. Thank you for being here, and for holding this special place in your heart like I do. To all of you who were already here when I arrived, thank you for making me feel so very welcome.

Heart – in Hebrew, it is lev. I lead with my heart. Heart or head, I usually choose heart every time. You have all helped to make mine sing.

Here at Temple, our Sacred Gifts membership program asks you to give from your heart, and to give as you have been blessed. I see you do this all the time – not only with your treasure, but with your time and talent as well. It is what makes our community warm and vibrant and strong.

So, the time is now to give from your lev. Time to say again…  “I want to be here. This place is important to me. I want our Temple family to have a bright future.”

Many of you have already renewed your Sacred Gift commitment. If you have not, you are welcome to call me. You know I would love to chat, and help you with your Sacred Gift – it gives me a wonderful excuse to have more conversations and hear more of your stories. The best part of my job!
