Yom Kippur

STUDY: The Jewish Path to Flourishing in the New Year with Rabbi Knight and Rabbi Nichols at Archer Chapel

Maimonides wrote in the Guide for the Perplexed that the whole of the Torah aims at the wellness of the soul and body. Nachmanides held that every Jewish responsibility and practice has a benefit intended to help our growth of mind, body, and spirit. Jewish wisdom and spiritual practices carry with them a promise to make our lives more fulfilling. Join Rabbi Knight and Rabbi Nichols as we explore the wisdom of Judaism as a deeply nourishing source for our personal development and as an authentic path to flourishing and thriving in the year ahead.

REFLECT: Write Now on Yom Kippur at Jonathan Howard Board Room

Gather for writing and reflection, an opportunity to create a bridge during this sacred time. Using the Amherst Writers & Artists Method, TBE congregant and TriBE Leader, Ellen Reich, will guide participants in both creating and witnessing from a deep and quiet place. Two optional meditative prompts will be offered, inspired by the Holiness of the day. After each writing period we will have time to share our raw writing efforts; Sharing is completely voluntary and feedback is limited to what we liked, what moved us. Paper and pens will be provided; just bring yourself and an open mind and heart.
