In Charlotte, Pride is celebrated in August, and Temple Beth El is proud to be part of it.
Members of our community will gather with people from across Charlotte’s faith traditions, march alongside our Shalom Park partners, and welcome visitors at the TBE booth during Pride weekend.
Each opportunity gives us a different way to show up. Together, we can share a message we want LGBTQ+ people and families to hear clearly: Yes, there is absolutely room for you here.

Our Pride celebration begins with the Charlotte Pride Interfaith Service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
This year’s theme is PROUD OUT LOUD: Many Paths, One Affirmation. Speakers from different spiritual backgrounds will share their experiences and reflect on faith, identity, and belonging.
Featured speakers include Rev. Erica Saunders of the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America; Rev. Rayvon Moore, chaplain at Givens Aldersgate and Atrium Health; and Rev. Dr. Amy Rio of Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church.
Rabbi Lexi Erdheim will attend alongside members of the Temple Beth El community. Refreshments and time to connect will follow the service, with kosher and vegan options available.
Volunteer at the TBE Pride Booth
Temple Beth El will once again have a booth at the Charlotte Pride Festival, and we would love your help making it feel welcoming and unmistakably TBE.
Volunteers will serve alongside members of our clergy and staff, greeting visitors and sharing more about our congregation. You may help answer questions, hand out TBE swag, or take a turn overseeing our brand-new prize wheel, which is already prepared to become the star of the booth.
You do not need to be an expert on every TBE program or have a perfectly polished answer ready. Come prepared to meet people, share what you love about our community, and help visitors feel comfortable stopping by.
Volunteers are needed on both Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, from 10:00am–6:00pm. Once we have a sense of everyone’s availability, we will coordinate individual shifts.

March with the Charlotte Jewish Community
Temple Beth El will join Levine JCC and other Shalom Park organizations in the Charlotte Pride Parade.
We will march together through Uptown Charlotte and proudly represent a Jewish community where everyone belongs. Come in your TBE gear, your rainbow gear, or whatever helps you feel ready to walk through Uptown in August.
Participation is free, but registration is required. Children ages 13 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The final meeting time and location will be emailed to registered participants a few days before the parade.
Pick the way that feels right for you, and come help us show Charlotte what a warm Jewish welcome looks like.
